New professor

As of February 1st 2014, Michiel Vermeulen has been appointed as Professor of Proteomics and Chromatin Biology at the Faculty of Science (FNWI) of the Radboud University Nijmegen.

Michiel obtained his PhD at the Radboud University Nijmegen in 2005 and after a post-doc at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry (Matthias Mann lab) in Munich (2006-2009), he worked as a group leader at the University Medical Center Utrecht (department of Molecular Cancer Research. Michiel obtained several prestigious grants (NWO-VIDI, ERC starting grant) and he participates in an NWO Zwaartekracht program (CGC.nl) and in several EU consortia.

The lab of Michiel Vermeulen performs research in the area of epigenetics, with a special focus on stem cell differentiation and cancer. Quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics technology forms the basis for many of the ongoing research projects.
